Schoology as a Learning Management Tool for Workforce Development/Adult Learning (Workshop, 75 min)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this advancing world of technology and adult education, workforce development has been exploring innovative ways to engage people for career readiness. With robust training programs, Learning Management Systems provide a way to create a blended learning experience for the students. Year Up, a workforce development program, has adopted Schoology as an organizational management tool. Nationally, we are able to effectively train young adults in Information Technology (Hardware, Software, Networking, Quality Assurance) and Business Communications (Business Writing, Public Speaking, Customer Service, Project Management, Financial Operations), and develop a talent pipeline for them to be internship and career ready. Here are some best business practices that we have learned that can be applied to any workforce, high school, or college structure through online and classroom instruction.

Session Objectives:
Attendees will be able to:
1) Understand workforce development and how a LMS can assist in career readiness
2) Identify transferable skills from the classroom to modeling a corporate/professional environment
3) Create Work/Life Simulations: Professional Feedback for Accountability and Task Management
4) Utilize Group Work principles for Project Management
